It sounds like two of the most unconstitutional pieces of legislation to pass through our government may, in fact, be made law. The United States of America is being killed by a bipartisan force ignorant of the Constitutional rights they are trampling.

Suddenly, emigration seems far more appealing than it ever did before. Sadly, the financial security for it is not there. This is the case for a majority of Americans, even.

The Founding Fathers are rolling in their graves.

New York, welcome your Police State or feel the oppressive, Press-denying, Constitution-defecating fascism of your keepers. May well call you Soviet York, considering how similar this all sounds to Soviet Russia under Stalin.

Good luck finding Democracy again. The Assassins Order would help, only they aren't real.

"We need more things to do, not more things to wear" is CSM6's latest tag line. But CCP has been known to argue that the character creator itself is something new to do in EVE, something that the CSM (and indeed, most EVE players) would reject completely. We're only a few months from the as-yet unnamed winter expansion. There are about three months until the CSM Winter Summit. By then, CCP had better have new game-play to show the CSM. Even if that game-play takes place within the Establishments, without that, I fear for EVE's future.

Just an interesting paragraph from a bittervet's blog. I think it's rather an important point with EVE Online. There's just too much mixed evidence with EVE right now, but I'll still play for awhile. I'll probably adjust my subscription cycles, though.

So it seems we're getting more details on the next expansion for EVE Online, now known as Tranquility thanks to this article (And, yes, that's the same name the live server carries, as well; we'll ignore the potential confusion of this fact).

Sad that we had to find these specific details out through a gaming news site and not CCP themselves through announcements. Come on, guys, you're supposed to be embracing a more open stance, right? To prevent another Incarnage/Monoclegate? We WANT to hear about this sort of news, but you're not delivering it to us directly?

I'm glad all the same, and I'm still reading the article, but CCP's communications issues are getting ridiculous.

AMENDMENT: Apparently the 'Tranquility' namedrop was miscommunication and CCP is contacting MMORPG.com to correct it. There has not yet been a concrete naming of the next expansion, probably because they're still not entirely sure what will actually make the cut and thus not sure what the name should describe? If it's mostly going to be Null-Sec fixes, it should have a Null-Sec conquest name like Dominion did, or perhaps a name to describe any new playstyles that hopefully will be possible after it is fully deployed? If it will allow smaller groups to be more effective, for instance, a name applying to such...

So, this link is to the website of a new game in development which sounds a surprising amount like EVE Online - Wide range of ship classes, varied playstyles from solo play to corporate empires of players in a persistent sandbox environment. Only better. Procedurally-generated worlds and star systems? This all sounds too good to be true. Proper exploration may, in fact, be plausible in this game.

I know one of my closest comrades in Clan Hyena, Avetorian, would be drawn to it. He's the one who found it and first told me about it. It sounds brilliant, but can they really do what they say? And can they do it quickly enough to smother the floundering EVE Online?

EVE Online is in trouble right now, ever since the 'explosion' of player reactions post-Incarna. Overall, the once very supportive player-base, which has generally ignored the flaws in the game's design, are finally speaking out against the very broken game that CCP has allowed to fester. And, to be honest, the players are just as much to blame for this as CCP, since, as we've often observed, CCP is fairly incompetent in general. It's the players who have finally kicked them in the ass for neglecting their prized pig, and finally gotten them seriously considering actual BALANCE fixes (such fixes as outlined in the theory blogs here and here). Fixes that should have been done earlier, yes, but only because players took the failings this seriously. If this stance on quality was insisted upon as strongly by the players earlier, it would have been done earlier. The players should accept their own share of the blame on this, especially since we know so well how disorganized CCP is. Yes, CCP is incompetent, but it is quite clear, now, that we are just as much to blame for the state of the game, since, as I have repeated, they only took the problems seriously after players finally got upset about the failings enmasse.

Besides, you can't expect a company to fix something if you let them think most players actually don't mind the status quo.

The CSM was formed to help with this stuff, but it has consistently been misunderstood and poorly utilized. It's finally been put to better use, but who knows- it may be too late with that Infinity game on the horizon.

Still watching, still playing.

Dear lord, will you people stop setting the bar so friggin high?? I always thought that a simple one knee proposal in a place full of meaning was the way to go, but jesus, even I'm not happy with that idea now. Please stop being so awesome. Or at least, stop putting it on the internet.

Congratulations by the way.

So... you may be familiar with the following quote:

"The problem with defending the purity of the English language is that English is about as pure as a cribhouse whore. We don't just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary." - James Davis Nicoll

... I had just realized it could be easily applied to Christianity, especially during its early growth periods, trying to convince the pagans to join them. These were things my religion teachers did not shy away from in their instructions. They explored these points- for instance: Christmas being on December 25th because some Pagan faith had that day as a Sun festival or such, and they wanted to convert them by adopting their holy day. If it wasn't for such things, we'd probably still be celebrating Hannukah like the Jewish faith (along with the rest of their holidays) that Jesus and his Disciples followed so dutifully, even during and after his ministry. Just because they suddenly followed Jesus didn't make them not Jewish anymore, after all.

Most Fundamentalists will say you're lying, though, because they're convinced they are right, without any rational thought or reasoning to back it up. Catholics generally know better, though, because, like me, they were generally taught the facts, not trumped-up religious 'truths' as if they were historical fact.

In any case, yes, Christianity is the English of the Religious world... or at least it was once upon a time, around the Dark Ages and probably a bit before.

Pursuing pagan faiths down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new holy days.

"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."
- Abraham Lincoln

Note: This is not about one party or another failing. This is about everyone failing in their own ways. The extremist terrorists didn't have to destroy us, because we are too busy destroying ourselves, with our lawmakers too busy with petty squabbles to handle our country's serious issues.

This is not about Socialism.
This is not about Fascism.
This is not about Pro-life or Pro-choice.
This is not about Marriages or Equality.
This is not about Muslims or Christians.

Going to leave it at that. Think about that, if you will.
